  • Question: Hey There! Luv your Corgi. So cute. I have been searching for one myself and live in Berks County. The closest breeder is Kandi Boll, and I see you have mentioned her! I have been researching her because in my area we have a lot of backyard breeders and puppy millers. I have called and she expects a litter end of May. Before I dive in head first can you tell me about your experience with Kandy? How much are her puppies and what else can I expect buying through her? Thanx in advance! - sweetiepies1
  • Answer:

    Sweetiepies1,

Glad you asked!  Kandy is a long-standing member of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America (http://www.pembrokecorgi.org/memberlist.cfm), and she runs a reputable business.  She is especially good at setting up multiple meetings to observe your interactions with the puppies, in order to place you with the right dog for your personality.  On your final meeting, she will narrow down the litter to 2 or 3 pups she thinks are best for you. She also provides information about the litter’s lineage (who the sire & dam were), along with photos of the parents.

The cost of each puppy in Effie’s litter last year was $1200; though as a conscientious breeder, she won’t allow a first-time owner to adopt multiple puppies at once.  And keep in mind that this cost may have changed since 2012.

After you take your puppy home, Kandy offers follow-up visits with her, to give your pup some of the required puppy vaccinations (cheaper than going to a vet!), and if you have any questions/problems you’d like to talk to her about.  I give her 5 stars!

Effie turns up her nose at all forms of water.  Corgis have evolved beyond lowly commonplace concerns like hydration.
